Campaign Story

As a foster based, volunteer run, rescue in The Cayman Islands we are at capacity and cannot help any more puppies and dogs that need us without finding premises to grow into. There are always more dogs that need rescue. We take stray dogs and puppies or ones that are surrendered to the Department of Agriculture and vet and rehome them. Cayman, like the rest of The Caribbean, has a huge pet overpopulation problem that is not going away any time soon! Adoptable dogs and puppies are euthanized because there is nowhere for them to go. One Dog at a Time is looking at opening the only kennel free sanctuary in Cayman where dogs will exhibit their normal healthy behaviors whilst we seek adopters on and off island. Everything in Cayman is expensive and we can’t fulfil this dream without support. Every $ donated through this fundraiser will go towards the premises. We have a potential property lined up which has a house and 3.5 acres of land but whether this will still be available once we have the funds we do not know. If not we will find an alternative location. We need $3 million for the dream to become a reality so we are hoping all our supporters near and far can help make this happen.
